Idaho Police Looking Forward To DUI Enforcement Patrolling On July 4th

|

The Idaho police officials will be strict on the streets from 4th July to the mid of July. At least 60 law enforcement agencies will be put in place to avoid any drunk driving accidents as the 4th of July celebrations are on the go.

The Idaho police official, Kyle Wills, already emphasized the increased number of accidents this summer and how minimizing distractions while on the road is necessary.

He said, “Put that cell phone down, eliminate those distractions in the car and focus on your drive. Like you had mentioned, but that seat belt on, it’s very important to buckle up”. He also added, “Your chance of survival increases significantly when you’ve got that seatbelt on. Then, of course, reduce aggressive driving and then plan for a way to get home. Eliminate impaired driving, and that does take all of us as a team and a community doing that.”

Idaho’s Transportation Department, OHS (office of Highway safety), is reported to have partnered with the Law Enforcement to prevent mishaps on the road of any form. The OHS manager, John Tomlinson, said, “We want everyone to enjoy the Fourth of July holiday, but it’s important to be responsible on the road. So as you make your plans for the long weekend, also make a plan for a sober ride home.”

He gave this statement in the hopes that citizens celebrate the 4th of July safely without engaging the safety of themselves and others. They also released few guidelines to follow in the same aspect. You can call at (208) 415-9943 hands-free from your phone if you see a suspected impaired driver. Also, don’t let a drunk friend drive the car, instead, take the keys and make sure they get home safely.
