Driver Charged With DUI in Sandy Springs Hit-and-Run Case

|

A 19-year-old, Robert Michael Barbour, has been identified as the accused in a Sandy Springs hit-and-run case. The Sandy Springs police found marijuana in his system when charged with DUI.

Barbour blocked the traffic on Ga. 400 with his reckless driving causing three continuous hit-and-runs on Tuesday, April 27. The police believe he may also be responsible for a similar hit-and-run case in a different jurisdiction.

In the process, three vehicles were reported damaged with no injuries to the vehicle owners. Due to the investigation under the process, the investigators had to shut down multiple southbound lanes in the Hammond Drive area.

It was also reported that the drivers immediately called 911 after they were hit but alleged to provide further details when they got off the road.

Due to the Sandy Springs hit-and-run accidents, the traffic was affected for hours, and the drivers were delayed on the Northside, as per the reports of WSB 24-hour Traffic Centre. The crash impacted the traffic flow in the area which was cleared by the early evening.

The accused, Barbour, is from Alpharetta and is also facing multiple charges outside the Sandy Springs jurisdiction. This includes three hit-and-runs, marijuana possession, fleeing, and attempting to elude. According to police, he was put under custody in Fulton County Jail. Reportedly, the investigation is still underway.

On Sunday, Sandy Springs police investigated another hit-and-run case that led to the death of a 25-year man named Michael Farmer. He, with his pet dog, was hit and killed while on the walk on Hammond Drive. In the investigation, the accused was found to be a woman named Dominique Houston, 38. She was allegedly running away from another hit and run accident at Rowell area Road at I-285. She was arrested from Newnan later.
