A 36-year-old woman was arrested on DUI charges in Idaho after a head-on crash that caused life-threatening injuries to the other driver.
Corina Larabee, a North Idaho resident, was arrested on Wednesday, May 7th, after causing a crash while driving under the influence. The collision left the other driver with near-fatal injuries who is currently getting treated at Kootenai Health. The crash took place on May 5th, at 5:35 PM on Meyer Road, a neighborhood of Rathdrum where Larabee resides presently.
The Kootenai County Sheriff reports that the crash was caused by Corina Larabee when she took the wrong way crossing the center line and hitting the victim’s car. Corina Larabee was driving her GMC Acadia northbound on Meyer Road. She was found to be driving under the influence and had crossed the centerline, hitting the Ford Escape driven by the victim. The victim was a 50-year-old woman named Michele L. Mahn from Coeur d’Arlene. Mahn was airlifted from the crash site and taken to Kootenai Health.
She is currently getting treated for the life-threatening injuries she has suffered. Several deputies from the Wyoming and Meyer Road area and the Kootenai Fire and Rescue responded immediately and took quick actions due to the severity of the head-on crash.
Larabee was treated at the scene and was then arrested under aggravated DUI charges as she had caused the head-on crash under the influence.
While the Sheriff’s Office is yet to provide a detailed investigation report on how Mahn was injured, they have released statements that her injuries are severe and life-threatening. The sheriff’s office continues their investigation on the same and has announced that they will release new information when it becomes available.
